Lead/Architect DevOps Engineer (AWS, Azure)

Join XY DIGITAL as a Lead/Architect DevOps Engineer and take ownership of complex cloud architecture initiatives. This is a high-impact, senior-level opportunity to lead infrastructure migrations and cloud-native transformation projects across Azure and AWS.

You will work alongside distributed Agile teams in building Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and serverless architectures that are scalable, secure, and production-ready.

This role offers full autonomy, remote flexibility, and the chance to mentor other engineers while defining cloud strategy.

Contract Type: Long-term / Open-ended (freelance or full-time)

• Lead technical design and implementation of cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS)

• Oversee full migration of legacy infrastructure from hosted environments

• Design and implement scalable IaC and CI/CD pipelines

• Act as DevOps Architect and technical advisor across multiple teams

• Ensure architectural standards and cloud best practices are followed

• Drive strategic cloud adoption and automation initiatives

• Mentor engineers and enforce quality delivery through guidance and reviews

• Work with stakeholders to ensure project alignment and technical feasibility

• 5+ years designing and implementing distributed cloud infrastructure

• 3+ years supporting senior-level cloud engineering projects

• Experience migrating on-premise workloads to AWS and Azure

• Deep understanding of virtualization, multi-site deployments, and infrastructure design

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Docker, and IaC

• Solid grasp of identity, security, and cloud-native tooling

• Platform knowledge across Windows, Linux, Unix, and Oracle environments

• Fluent English and excellent stakeholder communication skills

• Leadership mindset with mentoring/team lead experience

• Familiarity with .Net, Java, or scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Node.js

• Experience with contract bid responses and Proof of Concept implementations

• Consultative project experience or cloud transformation leadership

• Azure readiness assessment and cloud governance design skills
